Accept Payments on Your Forms — With a 0% Platform Fee
What this is
You can now collect one-time payments on any ZenForms form. Add a Payment field, list your prices, and respondents check out while they submit. Three things make it different from most form builders:
- 0% platform fee. ZenForms takes nothing from the payment. You keep every cent (minus Stripe's own processing fee, which you would pay on any checkout).
- Bring your own Stripe account. The money goes to your Stripe balance directly. There is no ZenForms account holding your funds and no payout delay on our side.
- Automatic confirmation. The submission is only marked complete once Stripe confirms the payment succeeded — so your submission list matches your bank.
Set it up in five steps
- Build your form in the builder as usual.
- Connect Stripe. In settings (or straight from the Payment field), paste a Stripe restricted API key. ZenForms verifies it and creates the webhook endpoint for you — a one-time, two-minute step.
- Add the Payment field. Choose a currency and add priced options — Standard — $20, Premium — $50, and so on. Make it required, or leave it optional so a blank submission is still accepted for free.
- Publish on Pro. Payment forms use the Pro tier ($3 per form). You will also need a full account (not a guest session) so your Stripe connection stays tied to you.
- Get paid. Respondents pick an option, the submit button becomes "Pay $20", and they complete checkout through Stripe. You see the person and their payment together in your dashboard.
Good fits
Paid event registration
Add tiered tickets — General $25, VIP $40 — as Payment options. Attendees register and pay in one step, and you can cap registrations with an access end date. See the event registration guide for the full field list.
Order forms and paid downloads
List products or service packages as priced options. Pair it with short-text fields for shipping details. The order form templates post has a ready structure.
Donations, dues, and entry fees
Fixed-amount options work well for membership dues, class fees, and contest entry fees.
Why bring-your-own-Stripe matters
When a platform routes payments through its own Stripe account, it owns the relationship: it holds your balance, controls your payout schedule, and can take a per-transaction cut on top of Stripe's fee. With a bring-your-own-Stripe model, none of that applies. Your customers are your customers, your payout timing is whatever you set in Stripe, and the only fee is Stripe's standard rate. If you ever leave ZenForms, your payment history and customer records are already in your own Stripe dashboard.
What it costs
The Payment field is part of the Pro tier — a one-time $3 per form, no subscription. See the full breakdown on the pricing section. ZenForms' platform fee on the payments you collect is 0%.
